Interworking between IEEE 802® networks and other networks is crucial to the satisfactory performance of mobile devices. This standard is part of the IEEE 802.2.1™ revision project, by which handover services specifications will be transferred from IEEE 802.21™ to IEEE 802.21.1™. This split will result in more practical use of the standard since not all use cases require all functionalities in IEEE 802.21™-2008.
